For educational publishers and EdTech companies, understanding the current needs and pain points of teachers is essential. By analyzing user data and search trends on platforms like Freeed, companies can gain valuable insights into the teaching resources that teachers are seeking.
In this blog post, we will explore the top 10 search terms that teachers use when searching for teaching resources. Our data is based on the usage of Freeed, a popular education platform, among teachers in Finland and Italy. More than 50% of Finnish teachers use Freeed, while in Italy the share is around 10%. This means that our data is likely to quite accurately reflect the situation in both countries.
The top 10 teaching topics for Finnish and Italian teachers differ in their focus on the subject matter. The Finnish list includes many topics related to language skills and math, while the Italian list includes broader topics such as peace and friendship. This might reflect the different educational priorities and what is seen as important topics to learn in the two countries. The inclusion of "peace" as one of the most popular search terms in Italy may be influenced by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
We are happy to see that with the most common search terms teachers can find tens or even hundreds of teaching materials on Freeed. For example for multiplication table practice, there is an endless amount of teacher-made worksheets, games, activities, and drilling practices in all our country communities.
